Frequently asked Questions
What types of lesions/birthmarks can be treated?
Most pigmented lesions and birthmarks (port wine stains, hemangiomas,
cafe au lait, etc...) can usually benefit from laser therapy. At the time of
consultation it can be determined the exact type of lesion you have,
and whether you will benefit from laser therapy. How long does each treatment last?
This depends on the type and size of the lesion being treated.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments required depends on the type of the birthmark and can be determined at the time of consultation.
Does it hurt? What does the treatment feel like?
Each pulse of the laser feels like the slight sting of elastic band snapping gently against your skin. The
active contact cooling of the hand piece used at Laser Genesis Skin
Clinic makes the treatment quite comfortable.
How soon can I resume my daily activities?
You can resume all of your daily activities immediately after
treatment. You should however avoid direct sun exposure for a couple of
weeks and wear a sunblock of at least SPF 30 while out in the sun.
What do I need to do before treatment?
To achieve maximum results, you should avoid sun exposure prior to and immediately following your treatment.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary according to the type and area of the birthmark. This can
be discussed at the time of consultation. At Laser Genesis we offer
very competitive prices affordable by almost every one.
